Obituary

WATERVILLE- Adeline Veilleux passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2026, at the age of 103. Adeline was born on July 21st, 1922. She was the daughter of Arthur and Louise Colford and was the first of nine children. Adeline was the cornerstone of her family. She was known for her kindness, extreme generosity and her joyful spirit. She literally never spoke ill of anyone. She would always say "Words are cheap, but you can't buy them back." Her father would say "The mold was broken when your mother was born." Adeline and her husband Lawrence owned and operated Milton Vending Service. There wasn't a day that went by that she wouldn't say "I've always been the luckiest woman in the world." She truly enjoyed life. She appreciated everything life had to offer. Up until her 80's, Adeline was an avid golfer, and bridge was an integral part of her life, Hospitality was one of her gifts. Adeline will be dearly missed for she made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence whose love for her was beyond description. Her parents Arthur and Louise Colford. Her siblings Norman, Delman, Wilbur, Lawrence and Milton Colford, Rita Bolduc, Alvina Colford and Doris Bartley. Her Mother and Father- In Law Rose and Gedeon Veilleux. Brother-In Law Raymond, Norman, and Noel Vigue. Sister's In-Law Ida Vigue, Shirley Vigue, Sister Marselle Veilleux, Ursula Vigue, Diane Colford and her special friends Glenys Gurski, Anita Laliberte, Mert Wolman, Bunny Nutting, Alverine Fortier, Yvette Roy and Patricia Kick- The Monday and Thursday Bridge Group which included dear friend Marge Jabar, who survives her. She is survived by her son Larry Veilleux and Daughter- In Law Chick Veilleux, Grandson Jason Veilleux and wife Natalie, Granddaughter Margaux Holcomb and husband Robert, Great Grandchildren Addyson and Lukas Holcomb and Owen West. She is survived by her brother Carroll Colford. Sisters- In Law Fern Colford and Delores Hutchison and many nieces and nephews. I would like to give thanks to the many caregivers for the past few years who took excellent care of my mother, so she never had to leave her home. Mary Poulin, Angelic Korbet, Patricia Peters, Sandy Boulier, Sonja Violet, Andrea Leone, Jenna Merrow, Miriam Chiebel and the wonderful staff at Maine-ly Elder Care. Also, a special thanks to David Preston MD, Terry Jacques NP, Debbie Hutchins RN and to life-long friend and support Stephanie Porciello. A Mass will be held at Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours Catholic Church- Corpus Christi Parish at 116 Silver Street in Waterville, ME 04901 at 10am, Tuesday, January 13th, with a reception following, In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Mid Maine Homeless Shelter or Waterville Humane Society. MOM How Thankful I am To Have Had You And Dad For The Life I Am Living I Might Never Have Had I've Never Forgotten You'll See As You Read I've Had All The Love Any One Son Would Need The Way You And Dad Respected Each Other The Times Dad Would Say "How I Love Your Mother" How All Friends And Family Were Treated The Same How Welcomed They Were Whenever They Came How You Always Stressed How Lucky We've Been "Don't Ask For More" "Be Thankful" Amen I Could List All You've Done And All You Have Touched Too Many To Mention You've Given So Much SO I've Written A Poem I Hope You Can See As You Look Down From Heaven On My Family And Me You Took Me In Your Arms And Rocked Me To Sleep Welcoming The Sandman As He Slowly Would Creep Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra "Sing It Please- Just Once More" "Pleasant Dreams & Sleep Tight" As You Gently Closed The Door This I Remember Your Voice – Soft and Low My Feelings So Safe As To A Man I Would Grow Showing By Example How Love Conquers All How One Can Be A Winner Even When One Takes A Fall And Then One Day Chick Came Along Now Was The Time To Create Our Own Song The Lyrics Were Different The Meanings The Same And Thanks To You Mom How Easy They Came So Many Lessons Learned From You And From Dad And One Of Those Lessons Is Making Me Sad Cause Now I Am Reaching For The Sandman Tonight As I Sing Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra Pleasant Dreams & Sleep Tight I'll Now Close The Door I Love You Goodnight
