Palermo, ME- Barbara Ann Stowe, 79, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, ME on Monday, May 25, 2015, with her family at her side. Barbara was born in Waterville, ME on May 6, 1936, the daughter of Earl F. Starks and Doris (Goodno) Starks. She attended North Vassalboro Grammar School and graduated from Winslow High School, Class of 1954. Barbara was employed by Wyndotte Woolen Mill and the Cascade Woolen Mill for many years. Her last job was at the Palermo Post Office. She had been an active member of the Grange for years, and was a member of the South China Community Church. Barbara enjoyed her family, her Church family, and her many friends. She enjoyed being busy, helping others, and loved playing beano with her beano buddy, Lillian. Her favorite task was working on public suppers, and socializing with everyone. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Frederick Stowe. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debra Stowe, and Kim and her spouse, George Humphrey; grandchild, Danielle Cyr and companion, Eugene McArthur III; and great grandchildren, George and Riley; a brother Earl Starks, Jr. and his wife Roseanna; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at the South China Community Church, 246 Village St., South China on Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. The family would like to thank her special CCU nurses Rebecca W. and Kaitlyn, and the rest of the staff at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.
