Beverly L. (Allen) Irish
March 29, 1930 – October 6, 2025
Beverly L. (Allen) Irish, 95, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on October 6, 2025. Beverly was born on March 29, 1930, in Waterville, Maine, to Willis and Elizabeth (Clair) Phillips. A lifelong Mainer, Beverly led a full and busy life centered around her family, her work, and her many creative passions.
She was a true craft enthusiast—whether it was crocheting, knitting, tole painting, diamond dot, or gardening, Beverly was always trying something new. She especially loved making pickles and baking cookies, sharing the fruits of her labor with loved ones.
Throughout her life, Beverly worked hard to support her family. She held positions at Ski-Land Woolen Mill, Lavierder's, Harris Baking, Hathaway, the Holiday Inn, and housekeeping at Thayer, where she worked until retirement. With seven children to raise, Beverly and her husband made sure one parent was always home, balancing opposite shifts to keep their family grounded.
Beverly was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Donald Allen Sr.; her second husband, Winifred Irish; her son, Danny Allen; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her children: Donna Allen, Morris Allen and wife Cindy, Mary Meader and husband Patrick, Barbara Rossignol and husband George, Donald Allen Jr. and wife Lisa, and Maureen Nadeau; her daughter-in-law, Dawn Allen; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Beverly will be remembered for her quiet strength, creative spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family.
There will be a private graveside service at the family plot in Howard Cemetery in Winslow at a later date.
