Obituary

Winslow: Beverly A. Lathe 84, died peacefully Saturday August 17, 2013 at her Winslow home. She was born in Waterville on March 25, 1929 the daughter of Leslie and Rita (Sanborn) Lathe. She was raised by her grand parents, Orice and Nellie Sanborn of Sidney. She attended the Holmes School in Sidney, graduating in 1945. She and her grandmother moved to Oakland and she graduated from Williams High School in 1948. Beverly worked after school at the then Diamond Tooth Pick Factory, continuing on for a few years. She then attended Thomas Business School nights for two years. She was employed 35 years at the Warnaco (Hathaway Division) in Waterville and was the Supervisor of the Data Processing Department , retiring in 1992. Beverly enjoyed working and following her retirement, she did volunteer work at both the Seaton hospital and Senior Spectrum. Beverly was a loyal and faithful member of the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church in Waterville for over 50 years. She moved from Oakland to North Anson in 1990, then to Winslow in 1998. She enjoyed doing many crafts and one of the favorite was making Barby Doll Clothes for the children. She made them for at least 3 different generations. She also did tole painting and ceramics. She enjoyed her computer and e-mailing her many friends and family. She liked traveling and took many trips. Her honesty, kindness and love for all animals, especially dogs is what we will remember her for. Although Beverly had no children of her own, her dog Ginger was the love of her life. She is a true angel in heaven. Surviving are one sister Betty Wright of Winslow and Friendship,, Nephew Anthony Champagne, nieces Amber Champagne-Wright and husband Marck, Jen Fiandaca, and Jesse Champagne. Step nephew Gary Wright and wife Kim, 5 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew, several cousins. At her request there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be 10:00 AM Saturday August 24 at the Reynolds Hill Cemetery, Reynolds Hill Road in Sidney. Arrangements are by Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Oakland.
