Carolle Edwina (Pelletier) Butler, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 31st, 2026, after resiliently battling cancer for several years. She was born in New Canada, Maine to Ludger and Simonne (St Amand) Pelletier on January 5th, 1943, and is the youngest of six children. Carolle attended school in the Waterville area and graduated from Mount Merici Academy in Waterville. Carolle enjoyed pursuing her creative talents all throughout her life, of which she had many. She spent several years working for department stores such as Stern's and Levine's as a seamstress, and what could only be estimated as thousands of hours creating beautiful things for her home and her family. She especially loved quilting and loved to meet up with her sisters and nieces for quilting bees. Her art brought tremendous joy to many, and she will be remembered fondly for her undeniable talent. Carolle was a devoted wife and mother and was also very involved in the lives of her grandchildren and extended relatives. She went to every performance, sports game and celebration she could, showing enthusiasm and support. Her family will miss her dearly. Carolle is survived by her husband David Butler, who she married on June 30 of 1962, son Jeffrey Butler of Waterville, son Bryan Butler and his wife April of Clinton, grandson David Butler of Clinton and his two children, Camden and Elouise, and granddaughter Bryanna (Butler) Peabody and her husband Alex of Hallowell, as well as two sisters Joann Poulin and Betty Loubier, and two brothers, Rodney and Gary Pelletier, all of Winslow, and many nieces and nephews who thought the world of her. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Norman Pelletier of Waterville. Details regarding a spring-time memorial service and a celebration of life will be announced on a later date. In lieu of flowers donations could be made in honor of her special feline friend Stella Luna to the Waterville Area Humane Society. Special thanks to the staff at The Alfond Cancer Center in Augusta, who treated Carolle with the utmost kindness for the duration of her illness.
