Obituary

Benton - Claire E. Pelotte 79, died peacefully Sunday August 16, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones and close friends after a 10-month battle of End stage renal disease.

Claire was born on August 25, 1946, in Waterville to the late Gerald and Mona (Tucker) Ellis. She grew up in Waterville and attended Waterville schools.

Claire married Thomas Pelotte on January 12, 1963. Together started a poultry farm here in Benton, where they raised their three children. She also worked alongside of Tom in the garage and wrecker service. She enjoyed the long-haul trips around the state and into Canada. After retirement she and Tom opened an online Fly-fishing shop.

Claire enjoyed camping in the summertime at the Old Mill campground in Rockwood. Moosehead lake was one of her favorite fishing places. She and Tom also spent weekends on the ocean fishing and relaxing. She enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in the backyard. Always looking forward to the baby critters to arrive in the spring. She had the most beautiful flowers growing around the home. She also enjoyed doing crafts, her favorite was cross stitching.

The coffee pot was always "On" for family and friends to gather around the table and enjoy each other's company. She was an amazing cook! Friends and family loved to gather for a real home cooked meal.

She was baptized as One of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 23, 2003. She was a very active member and enjoyed the ministry.

"Your life was a blessing, your memory is a treasure"
