WATERVILLE, Maine — Cynthia Lois (Noel) St. Pierre peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 12, 1944, to Raymond ("Bill") Noel and Althea (Tardiff) Noel, Cynthia was a lifelong resident of Waterville. She often spoke fondly of her idyllic childhood on Pine Street, where she grew up with her parents and sister, Pat, surrounded by a large, close-knit family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Summers at the family camp on Snow Pond were among her happiest memories, filled with swimming, card games, shared meals, and laughter. Her parents instilled in her the values of family, hard work, and devotion—values she carried throughout her life and passed to future generations.
Cynthia met her husband, Sanky, while working at Keyes Fibre. They shared 62 years of marriage, making their home in Waterville and raising four children. Being a mother was the role she cherished most, devoting herself to a home filled with love, laughter, and traditions that continue to bring her family together.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved listening to the music of her younger years and could still sing every word to her favorite songs. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, and filling her kitchen with homemade treats. She lovingly hand-knit Christmas stockings for every member of her growing family—treasured heirlooms that remain lasting reminders of her love.
Known simply as "Memere" to her grandchildren, there was nowhere Cynthia would rather be than surrounded by family. The camp remained her happy place throughout her life. She loved sitting on the deck watching her grandchildren swim and play in the lake, knowing they were creating the same cherished memories her own children had made. She also treasured evenings playing cards with her sister and cousins and maintained lifelong friendships with Anne and Sharon.
She is survived by her husband, Sanky; her children, Allison (St. Pierre) Fluet and husband Steve of Cumberland, Danny St. Pierre and wife Angel of Belgrade, Joey St. Pierre and wife Crystal of Waterville, and Jody (St. Pierre) Nutting and husband Dan of Scarborough; her grandchildren Griffin, Zoe, Mackenzie (Jake), Madison (Noah), Phineas, Paige (Ian), Brady (Emily), and Hudson; her great-grandson, Wyatt; her sister, Patricia Vintinner; and her nieces and nephew. Her parents predeceased her.
Her family finds comfort knowing the traditions she created and the memories made at home and on Snow Pond will continue for generations. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of MaineGeneral Hospice of Waterville for the exceptional care, comfort, and kindness they provided to Cynthia and her family during her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville on July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. celebrating Cynthia’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the MaineGeneral Homecare and Hospice 10 Water street, Suite 307, Waterville, Maine 04901.
