Winslow – Daniel A. Cyr, 81, passed away May 3rd, 2026 at the Maine Veterans Home with his family by his side. Dan was born June 25th 1944, the son of Alfred and Eva Cyr. Following his graduation from Winslow High School Dan joined the Air Force and was stationed in Hawaii for four years. Dan worked at Kimberly Clark (Scott Paper) in Winslow for 32 years where he met his wife, Patricia Lagasse. Pat was his best friend for the 57 years they shared together. Family time was important to him. Dan enjoyed fishing on Rangeley Lake with Pat and hunting together when their family grew older. He especially loved rabbit hunting with his sons. In his spare time Dan enjoyed making beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. Dan is survived by his wife Patricia and their children Brian (Julie) Cyr of Portland, Karen (Chris) Ellis of Glenburn, Keith (Jessie) Cyr of Clinton and Kenneth Cyr of NH; grandchildren Katy Cyr, Nolan (Alex) Cyr, and Trenton Ellis. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Jeannette Hebert and Jestel Bolduc. The family wishes to thank the staff of Liberty Island at the Maine VA Nursing Facility in Augusta for the excellent care he received. Cass, you are the best! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours Catholic Church, Father Patrick Agbodi celebrant, June 17th, 2026 at 10am.
