Obituary

Etna: Denis Bedard passed away at Eastern Maine Medica Center on May 26,2024 after a brief illness. Denis was born in Quebec City Quebec, on April 18,1975 to Rejean and Nicole Bedard (Lemay). He attended high school in Quebec and graduated from the Maine State Criminal Justice Academy, becoming certified as a Correction Officer. When Denis first came to the United States, he worked as a jack of all trades, doing home repairs, carpentry and lawn care to provide for his family. After many months of waiting for his permanent residence status, Denis worked for the Kennebec County Sheriff Department for several years, followed by eight years as a business owner with his wife Debra. Denis was married to his wife Debra for 27 years. Though they faced some rough times, their love for one another and their family was always paramount. Denis adored his daughter Alexa and all his grandchildren: Alexa Bedard and her partner Shawn Burns who gave him 3 grandchildren, Pheobe Lucas and Thomas Lucas; and his step-son and daughter-in-law Tyler and Sarah Tracy who gave him five grandchildren, Cyndi, Doug, Claire, George, and Eric. Denis had a huge heart and always made time to spend with them, playing and creating. Denis had many hobbies, his favorite being the adrenaline rush from going 200mph on his Ninja 1000 or doing a stand-up wheelie for a half mile down the highway. He also loved collecting gems, rocks and precious stones and working with wood and epoxy to create various items, from tabletops to trinkets for his grandchildren. Denis enjoyed impromptu trips, often driving four hours to Quebec to have coffee with his parents and then returning home the same evening. He had many friends from all walks of life and made friends wherever he went; people always seemed to want to get to know him. Denis is survived by his parents, Rejean and Nicole Bedard; his wife Debra Bedard ; his children Alexa Bedard and her partner Shawn Burns; Tyler Tracy and his wife Sarah and Timothy and his wife Nicole: His grandchildren Phoebe Bedard, Lucas Bedard, Thomas Bedard, Cyndi Tracy , Doug Tracey Claire Tracey , George Tracy and Eric Tracey; and his brother Mario Bedard and his wife Ellen. Family would especially like to thank Lee and Bruce Falconer; Tyler and Sarah Tracey, Sherri Gauthier and Bruce Kirchdorfer for all their support you gave us through this difficult time.
