Obituary

Dorothy M. Grindall, 89, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2026, after a multi-year battle with dementia. She was born August 3, 1936, in Canterbury, New Brunswick, Canada and was the youngest child of four. She raised 3 sons and one daughter working hard to ensure they had a good life. She also helped others by working in school, working as a nurse's aide at Redington Hospital, and volunteering at the Doll Factory at Thayer Hospital for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting, making her family warm socks and mittens for many years. She and her late husband, Ansel, traveled across the United States visiting many amazing destinations and enjoyed many winters together in Florida with friends away from the snow and cold. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Ruby, husband, Ansel Grindall, her brother and wife, Blair and Freda, her sister and husband, Vida and Dawson, and her daughter, Vonda. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Alma of New Brunswick Canada. Also survived by sons: Brian Bronson and wife Carrie of Fairfield, Bruce Bronson and wife LeeAnn of Franklin NH, Blaine Bronson and wife Tabitha of Abbot, stepson Richard Grindall and wife Kay of Waterville, stepdaughter Kathy Rhodes of Rockland. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. Dot, Grammy, will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family deeply appreciates the staff of Woodlands in Farmington who have taken such great care of her these last 3 years. A funeral service will be held on May 16th, 2026, at 2:00pm at Crossroads Bible Church, 705 White Schoolhouse Road, Madison, ME 04950.
