Obituary

Gail L Kelley 1947- 2023 Gail Lynn Kelley 76, of Burnham passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack, May 8, 2023. She was born January 9, 1947, the oldest daughter of the late Elbridge and Hazel (Adams) Plummer of Southport, Maine She attended Southport Central Grade School and Boothbay Region High School, Graduating a recipient of the National Honor Society. She sang in choirs, in a trio and Allstate. Gail always wanted to be a teacher and after she Graduated from University of Farmington, she first taught in Belgrade and the remainder of her career in Oakland, until she retired in 1994. She was an avid reader; even as a child she would take her bike and ride to the local library with westerns being a favorite at that time. She enjoyed puzzle books, reading, sewing, crocheting and camping with her husband. After moving Down-East she started a business, first with parties, then in the garage of her home, and then finally in a little gift shop "Seaside Flags" in Machias. She moved back to this area to be closer to family. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Micheal Kelley of Burnham; a son Jason Pelotte and wife Tonya of Fairfield; a sister Faye Greaney of Fairfield; a nephew Todd Plummer of Boothbay, two granddaughters, Brittany (Pelotte) Dixon and Husband Kristian of Clinton and Kristen Pelotte of Waterville; two great grandsons Grant and Colten Dixon of Clinton. Per Gail's request she was cremated and there will not be a funeral. Her final resting place will be at Deckers Cemetery in Southport, on June 13, 2023, at 10am. Arrangements were made in coordination of her husband and son with Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Waterville Human Society.
