Obituary

Waterville - Hason L. Brown, 67, of Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Lakewood Nursing Home after a lengthy and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. Hason was born August 25, 1945 in Skowhegan, Maine to Dorothy and Edwin Brown. He was raised by his grandparents Mildred and Hason Meservey. He graduated from Skowhegan High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army for 3 and a half years and served an overseas tour of duty in Germany. He worked for the State of Maine and retired in 2006 due to his illness. Hason enjoyed camping, NASCAR, working on his Ford truck, woodworking (especially his adirondack chairs) and spending time with his family. Hason will be remembered by his loving wife Carolyn Cooper- Brown, his two daughters and their husbands Laurel and Rick Plessner, Tracey and Chuck Mace, his stepson Terry Cooper and fiancée Angel Duncan and his 5 grandchildren Benjamin, Nathaniel and Joshua Mace, Samuel Plessner and Heather Cooper. He is also survived by his siblings Carla Bailey, Gary Meservey, Rae Henrietta, Edwin and Joyce Brown, and also his in laws, Cynthia & Lew Yattaw, William & Faye Cooper, Del & Donna Cooper and mother-in-law Barbara Cooper and several nieces and nephews as well as his large extended family. Hason was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and a special niece Lisa Wentworth. Hasons family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at Lakewood Nursing Home for their loving and continued care and support.
