Obituary

Waterville: Henry Hank Arnold Haynes 70, died peacefully on August 6, 2014 at the Togus V.A. Hospice, with his devoted family and with the support of the caring and passionate staff. Hank was born in Holland, Ohio oon July 11, 1944 the son of Roosevelt and Effie (Shuffit) Haynes. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964. He was an expert Rifleman and received two Purple Heart Medals from his service in Vietnam. Hank loved his early morning trips to Bridgett s Restaurant in Vassalboro to have coffee with his friends. He had a passion for muscle cars with speed and loved to watch westerns and listen to George Jones. He was predeceased by his wife Marielle (Lachance) Haynes on August 2, 2011. Surviving are his sister Bonnie Redlinger and spouse Richard of Florida, his children, Tammatha (Tammy) Haynes Foley and spouse Paul Jr. of North Carolina, Steven Haynes and spouse Sheri of North Carolina, Vickie Haynes Wyatt and spouse Jeff of North Carolina, and Shannon Metcalf of Maine, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters. Special thanks for the love and support to Brenda at Bridgett s Restaurant, Denise, a family friend and to all the doctors and nursing staff at Togus VA Hospice for all their support. Friends are invited to visit 10-12 AM Friday August 8 at Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Services (www.wheelerfh.com) 26 Church Street Oakland where a funeral service will be held at Noon. Burial will be at a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
