Jean (Getchell) Myrick, of Unity, passed away peacefully on Feb 2, 2024, after many battles with cancer. She was the wife of Ralph Myrick for 50 years before his passing. She is survived by her 3 daughters – Joy Frost, Lori Myrick, and Lisa Myrick, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Jean loved to read, knit, and spent hours doing crossword puzzles. Let us not forget all the cribbage games she played with her lifelong friend and companion Pat B. They were brutal with each other! Camping trips with many of the Myrick "Clans" was always an enjoyable time for her. She would spend hours sitting at the kitchen table watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds, that she fed faithfully. She also enjoyed all her flower gardens, that were everywhere. Jean was a life time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She spent many years as an officer in her local chapter, Joshiah H. Drummond Chapter #91, as well as Maine's Grand Family. Her dedication and love for her Star family was immeasurable. A graveside service will be held On June 8, 2024, at 11:30 am. At the Unity Pond Cemetery, Unity ME. In leu of flowers Jean's family asks that you donate to a cancer charity of your choice. Please join the family at the Field of Dreams in Unity for refreshments following the service.
