Jeannette Charette, 93 Waterville – Jeannette Charette, 93, of Waterville died on Monday June 26, 2017 at Oak Grove Center. She was born in Fort Kent, Maine on June 6, 1924, a daughter of Victorie and Dora (Vaillancourt) Charette. She graduated from Fort Kent High School. Jeannette worked in retail sales before attending nursing school in Presque Isle. She became an LPN working in Maine hospitals and nursing homes. She then became the housekeeper for Fr. Charette in Upper Frenchville for several years and retired to the Waterville area where she was active at Notre Dame Catholic Church and volunteered at the local soup kitchen. Jeannette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, listening to classical music and was still doing yoga into her 80s. She loved the company of children, spoiling them and generally helping and serving others. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Oak Grove Center for the care and attention Jeannette received while a resident there and to the hospice staff for their care in her last days. A special word of gratitude is given to her special friend, Meredith Carr, for her devotion and dedication to Jeannette through the years. Jeannette is survived by her sisters: Rinette Fauchon and Noella Audet; her brothers: Maurice Charette and Arnold Charette; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday July 6, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville. Burial followed in Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.
