John Edmund Jacques, age 83, passed away March 11th, 2025, in Belfast, Maine surrounded by his loving family, many dedicated caregivers and his beloved wife Dana. John was born to Fredrick and Dora Jacques as the youngest of five in Waterville, Maine, on January 10th, 1942. John graduated from Waterville Senior High School in 1962, going on to join the Waterville P.D., serving for 25 years as a Sergeant, followed by another eight years for the Winslow P.D.. John married Dana Beane on September 1st, 1962, and they were married for 62 years. John had a deep love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping with his family and friends. John had a passion for fast cars, cracking jokes, and telling a good story. He is remembered by many for his deep dedication to helping others in the community. He is survived by his wife Dana Jacques; daughter: Lisa Kipp Jacques and son, Avery Henningsen; son: Jeffrey Jacques and his wife Kim, their son, Marsden; daughter: Stacie Jacques and her husband, Peter, their two children, Maya and Elijah along with his many nieces and nephews. Visitations will be on Monday the 17th of March from 4-8 pm at the Veilleux's Funeral Home, and there will be a Mass of Christian burial at Notre Dame Church at 10 am on Tuesday the 18th of March in Waterville, Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory may be directed to the Waterville Food Bank. Envelopes will be available at the visitation.
