Benton, ME – Kathleen "Kathy" Farris, 91, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She was born on January 8, 1935, to the late Euna and Omar Adams.
She is survived by her significant other Merle Brann Sr.; daughter Diane Gousse; sister Joyce Fish and her husband Alan; sister Sandra Dostie; and grandson Nicholas Farris and many nieces and nephews. Kathy is predeceased by her husband Robert Farris; her parents; son Russell Farris; sons-in-law Ronald Gousse and William Dostie and grandson Joshua Farris.
Kathy was a proud graduate of Waterville High School, Class of 1955. Shortly after graduating, she began what would become a long and dedicated career with Keyes Fibre, where she worked for 45 years. Known for her strong work ethic and reliability, Kathy was respected by her coworkers and formed many lasting friendships during her time there.
In 1956, Kathy married the love of her life, Robert Farris. The couple shared many happy years together until Robert's passing in 1986. The following year, Kathy met Merle Brann Sr., who became her devoted companion. The two shared nearly four decades together and built a life filled with laughter, travel, and companionship.
Kathy and Merle especially loved traveling. Whether it was road trips, bus tours, cruises, or memorable visits to Disney World, they cherished every opportunity to explore and enjoy their retirement together. At home, Kathy found joy in the simple things she loved most, cooking for those she cared about and spending hours completing her favorite word searches. She was rarely without one nearby and had collected stacks upon stacks over the years.
Kathy will be remembered for her warm presence, her love of family and companionship, and the happiness she found in life's everyday moments.
Visiting hours will take place Friday, March 13th from 1-2pm with a formal service at 2:15pm at Veilleux-Redington Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street Waterville, ME with a burial at Brown Cemetery in the Spring.
