Obituary Notice From Wheeler Funeral Home 26 Church St. Oakland, Me. 04963 207-465-3011 February 6, 2013 Sidney: Kenneth Gordon Drake 68 died Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the USVA Hospital at Togus. He was born in Waterville on September 5, 1944 son of Waldo and Doris (Bangs) Drake. Kenneth attended local schools, graduating from Williams High School in Oakland. Following high school, Ken joined the US Navy, serving during the Viet Nam Era. Kenneth worked a short time at Statler Tissue in Augusta before being employed by Pillsbury Tractor Company in Waterville. He was employed over 30 years by KEATS Inc in Keen NH, retiring in February of 2006. Kenneth was a long time member of the Brattleboro, VT. American Legion, and a member of the NRA. He was an avid antique collector, including Civil War memorabilia. He was a history buff and loved antique vehicles, especially his 2 corvets. Kenneth was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an animal lover and a great lover of all his pets. Besides his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by a brother Waldo. Surviving are his wife Sandra (Sadd) Drake of Sidney, 2 sons, John Drake and wife Julie of Keene, NH and Kenneth Drake and wife Donna of Hindsdale, NH. His sister in law Zelma Drake of Sidney, a sister Beatrice Doyle of Hallowell, 4 grand children Ryan, Landon, Dylan, and Skye Drake all in NH., several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit 1-4 on Saturday February 9 at Wheeler Funeral Home www.wheelerfh.com 26 Church Street Oakland. A grave side service will be in the spring at the Sawtelle Cemetery in Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waterville Area Humane Society 100 Webb Rd. Waterville, ME. 04901.
