Larry Tilton Obituary Larry Tilton 63 of Skowhegan passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on September 5th, 2024, with an amazing amount of family and friends by his side. Larry was born September 12th, 1960, to Lawrence and Wilma Tilton. Larry worked selling auto parts for over 30 years, with most of those years for Napa Auto Parts. Larry's lifelong passion, as all who knew him is music. Larry started playing gigs at the age of 15. There were so many bands throughout the years; to name just a few, Easy Ed and the Drifters, Hiker, 5th Avenue, Clean Country, Country Comfort and for the past 30 years Borderline Express, who to his bandmates will always be referred to as Larry the "Big Show" Tilton. Larry enjoyed watching the next generation of musicians, especially Scott Cole, which prompted Larry to start donating guitars to local schools. Larry was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Wilma Tilton; brother Greg Tilton; In-laws Rev. Maynard and Rosalie Hammond; and a very special great nephew Jack Loeven. Larry is survived by wife Suzanne Tilton; daughter Alyssa Tilton and future son-in-law Jason Brooks; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Paula Hammond; niece Paige Loeven and husband Jordan Loeven., great niece Grace Loeven; Tom Cole, who was a brother to him; and all past and present bandmates who share his passion of music. The funeral service will take place in Skowhegan at the Federated Church on 13 Island Avenue, Skowhegan, Maine on September 18th at 11:00 am. Fellowship to follow at the Tewskbury building behind the church. The family would like to thank the bystanders at the accident who looked after Larry until help arrived, the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center who gave exceptional care to Larry in his final days, the Organ Donor Team, who assisted us in honoring Larry's final wishes, and everyone involved in the Honor Walk at the hospital. We are truly grateful to all of you. Most importantly our amazing family and friends who have been and continue to be at our side throughout our time of need. Larry, it has been 44 years since you have been able to jam with Greg. Now and forever is your time.
