AUGUSTA, MAINE — Lonio "Neil" Labbe, 82, of the Outlet Road in Augusta, Maine crossed over to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 31, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine after a brief illness. He was born in Augusta, Maine on April 12, 1929, the son of Joseph Eugene and Josephine (Corriveau) Labbe. Neil lived his whole life in Augusta, Maine. While still a teenager, he was a brick maker. He also worked at Edwards Cotton Mill in Augusta, Maine. One of his many accomplishments was helping to build the Outlet Road. He was the proud owner of Labbe’s Paving Company, which specialized in paving driveways, walkways, and parking lots, until his retirement in 1996. He loved his special times with friends over a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Eugene and Josephine (Corriveau) Labbe; his brothers, Robert Labbe, Norman Labbe, Romuald Labbe, Florian Labbe, and Lionel Labbe; his sisters, Lydia Labbe, Doris Boucher, and Joan Dostie, and his first wife, Joan Fisher Labbe. He is survived by his wife Gloria Withee Labbe of Augusta, Maine; his sisters, Denise Poulin of Benton, Maine and Lucille Marcoux of Winslow, Maine; his children, Norman Labbe and his wife, Joyce, of Albion, Maine; Nancy Labbe and her husband, Ron Brown, of Windsor, Maine; Gail Patenaude and her husband Denis, of Belgrade, Maine; Diane Dionne and her husband Mark, of Bangor, Maine; Richard Labbe, of Georgia; Sherry Peaslee and her husband Randy, of Windsor, Maine; and Timmy Labbe and his wife Rhonda, of Windsor, Maine; his step-children, Wayne Withee of West Gardiner, Maine; Deborah Ritchie of Temple, Texas; Glenda Frati of Palmyra, Maine; and Wanda Hayes and her husband Dana of Augusta, Maine; several grandchildren and step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as a step great-great grandchild. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at his home at 144 Outlet Road in Augusta, Maine for Family and Friends. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted.
