Brunswick – Loretta Preo Lajoie, 94, passed away on December 15, 2013 after a short illness. She was born in Waterville on July, 19, 1919 a daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (LeBrecque) Bureau and attended local Waterville schools.

Loretta was a member of St. Bridgett’s Catholic Church in Vassalboro Maine for many years serving as a Eucharistic for over 20 years. She was a SPECTACULAR mother who was always gracious, genuine and generous. She loved spending time with her family and helped raise many of her grandchildren. Loretta was loved by all as she would welcome anyone with open arms and a smile. She enjoyed spending time gardening both her flower and vegetable gardens and always found time to bird watch and was excided whenever her presence would be graced by hummingbirds.

Loretta is survived by her husband Wilfred Lajoie of Brunswick, son Alfred Preo and his wife Rachel of Winslow, daughter Charlene Breton and husband Ronald of Winslow, son Frank Preo and wife Jackie of Vassalboro, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors including a special niece Cathy Murphy for her loving care and great neighbors Steve and Sara for their love and support during their difficult times.

Loretta was predeceased by her first husband Charles L. Preo, a daughter Sheila, daughter in law Karyn Preo, a son in law Robert Rancourt and her three sisters Cecile Weston, Yvette Yocum and Eva Chamberlain.

At Loretta’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial funeral Mass will celebrated at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11 AM, A burial will be held in the spring time at Village Cemetery in Vassalboro, ME.
