Marie was born January 29, 1935 in Calais, Maine. She was the only child of Fae Yeaton Morrison and Charles P. Morrison. While working as a civil engineer for the Maine State Highway Dept., Marie's dad moved the family to various locations before finally settling their family in Ellsworth, Maine. Marie attended elementary and secondary schools in Ellsworth and graduated in 1952 from Ellsworth High School. She immediately enrolled in the nursing program at Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor and graduated in 1955 as a Registered Nurse. Upon graduating from nursing school she took a job as the school nurse in Ellsworth and remained in that position until she married. Marie Morrison and Raymond (Bud) C. Harrington married on September 2, 1956 and moved to South Portland, Maine. Marie worked at Mercy Hospital and also as a private duty nurse while she and Bud raised their two sons, Jeff and Ken, in the Portland area. Eventually Marie and Bud settled in Benton, ME in 1965. She was hired to fill a nursing position with the Scott Paper Co. in Winslow and remained at that location until transferring to a head nurse position in the medical department at the Kimberly Clark Mill in Hinckley where she worked until her retirement. In the early years of their retirement Marie and Bud enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada in their fifth-wheel RV. Marie enjoyed photography, cribbage, gardening, glass working and the outdoors. She also enjoyed researching her family's history which confirms her ancestral roots going back to the Mayflower and earlier. She is an official Mayflower Society Member. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Fae Morrison, daughter-in-law Louise Harrington and husband Raymond Harrington.
