Obituary

Mark Leo Rowe Sr., 65, passed away at his residence in Waterville, Maine on September 29, 2025. Born on June 19, 1960, in Houlton, Maine, Mark grew up with deep roots in northern Maine and carried that pride with him throughout his life. A 1979 graduate of Hermon High School, he was affectionately known as "Tater" and was actively involved in sports and school life. Mark was a hardworking and skilled crane operator, dedicating many years of his life to H.E. Cliff and Sons in Hermon before spending the last 26 years as a proud member of the team at Sheridan Construction Corporation in Fairfield. His colleagues there became a second family to him, and he held those relationships close to his heart. He had also been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hermon, showcasing his commitment to community and service. He was an avid outdoorsman and passionate fisherman. Nothing made him happier than casting a line or finding a quiet spot to nap while he waited for the big one. One of his favorite traditions was his annual trip to Bradford Camps—a cherished getaway spent with special friends who had become like family. He also had a deep love for Camp 29 and the game of hockey, especially cheering on his beloved Boston Bruins. Mark is survived by his daughter Monica and her husband Chris, daughter Jessica, and son Mark Jr.; his grandsons Christopher and Logan; his sisters Tanya, Laurie and her husband Chris, and Marie; sister-in-laws Sheri and Marion; and many special nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life. He is also remembered with deep affection by his work family at Sheridan Construction Corporation. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Phyllis (Morill) Rowe; his brothers John and Martin; and his brother-in-law Danny. A celebration of life will be held from 2pm-6pm on Sunday October 26 at O'Briens Irish Restaurant & Pub in Waterville, Maine. Family and friends are invited to come as you are and join together to share stories, laughter, and memories in honor of a life well lived and a man deeply loved. Mark will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, warm heart, and the way he made many feel like family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty and laughter that will be cherished always.
