WINSLOW- Nancy Ellen Aldrich of Winslow, Maine went to be with the Lord August 20, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1944, in Lewiston, Maine. She grew up in Norway, Maine attending public schools until the age of 16 when she enrolled at South Lancaster Academy in Lancaster, MA. She graduated in 1963. Nancy went to work as a switchboard operator at New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, MA while attending Atlantic Union College of Lancaster, MA. Over the next several years, she was employed by Lahey Clinic, Mount Auburn Hospital, and St. Elizabeth’s in Boston as she worked her way to be the head of communications at each institution. Nancy’s next professional move was to work as a communications consultant negotiating contracts throughout the United States. She later owned that firm, Telecommunications Management Corporation in Waltham, MA. Because of the influence she attained within the industry, Nancy became the first woman president of HIMSS (Health Information and Management Systems Society).

Upon retirement and returning to Maine, she volunteered with Spectrum, Catholic Charities, and as a member of the local school board in Winslow.

The joy of Nancy’s life was her family, especially her nieces and nephews taking them to WWE wrestling, stockcar racing, rock and roll concerts, trips to Disney, and anything to spend quality time just having fun. She loved to travel extensively throughout the world with friends and her beloved mother.

She will be greatly missed by her family including Linda Twitchell, Billie Gerkey (Jerry), and Brian Aldrich (Maud), her nieces and nephews: Benjamin, Scott, and Tiffany Twitchell, Carrie Muntean, Todd Gerkey, Briana, Derek, Joshua, and Isaac Aldrich. She is also survived by 17 great nieces and nephews with 11 more in the 4th generation. She is predeceased by her mother, Alcie Pratt Aldrich, her father, Kenneth Elmer Aldrich and brother-in-law Ben Twitchell.

A private service will be held at a later date.
