Paul Norman Fisher was called home to the Lord on September 6, 2026, surrounded by those he loved. He went peacefully to rest, leaving behind a lifetime of memories shared with his family and friends.

Paul was born in Waterville on January 16, 1939, to Norman and Alice Fisher. He grew up in the Waterville area and attended Williams High School in Oakland.

In 1965, Paul married the love of his life, Norma, and together they shared many wonderful years. Paul worked for several years as a diesel mechanic for the railroad before beginning a career as a machinist at the Maine Yankee nuclear plant. Through his work with the contractor, Paul had the opportunity to travel throughout the country.

A talented and hardworking man, Paul enjoyed carpentry and spending time working with his hands. He and Norma also enjoyed escaping the Maine winters, spending 28 years as snowbirds in Florida. Paul also proudly served his country as an Army veteran, serving as a radio operator prior to the Vietnam War.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Norma; his daughters, Sonya Cropley and Roxanne Montgomery; his son, Christopher Fisher; his grandsons, Staff Sgt. Matthew Cropley, Daniel Carlsile Montgomery III, and Nicola Fisher; his sister, Lurene Adamopoulos; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, and extended family members.

He is now reunited with his parents, Norman and Alice Fisher; his brothers, Carl and William Fisher; and his sister, Helen Zimber.

Paul will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his years of service to his country, his hardworking nature, and the life he shared with Norma and those he loved.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church in Waterville on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment with military honors will take place promptly at 1:00 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Niche Wall on Bluestar Avenue in Augusta.
