Obituary

WATERVILLE - - MAHEU, Priscilla Marie Priscilla Marie Maheu passed away on August 8, 2024. She was the daughter of Irene Cowan and stepfather, Elmer Cowan. She was born in Waterville, Maine March 20, 1929. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1947, and immediately after went to work for the telephone company. She worked for the telephone company for approximately 40 years. She was a Telephone Pioneer doing volunteer work on the Winter Special Olympics, cleaning Talking Books at the State Library, and knitting hundreds of children's mittens for schools. She and her best friend, Therese Sullivan, tested newborns for their hearing at hospitals. She was also proudest for having donated 84 pints of blood throughout her lifetime, once donating person to person. She was lovingly known as Aunt Belle to 3 generations and never missed a birthday, wedding, or graduation. She loved playing mahjongg and card games, watching Red Sox games, and traveling to see family in Nevada. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Reginald (and wife June), sisters Cheryl, Carmen (and husband Ralph Poulliot), Beverly (and husband Don Pelletier), and brother-in-law Bernard McCaslin. She is survived by sisters, Betty Smith and husband, Bill of Nevada, and Norma McCaslin of Winslow, 17 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 15 from 7:00 – 9:00pm at Veilleux-Redington-Lawry Brothers, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, Aug. 16 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterville. A reception to follow will be announced at the graveside. Arrangements are in the care of Veilleux-Redington-Lawry Brothers, 8 Elm Street, Waterville where memories of Priscilla may be shared and an online register book can be signed by visiting www.vrlfuneralhome.com
