Randolph G. (Randy) Nadeau born May 3, 1963, to Byron Randolph Nadeau and Muriel (Withee) Nadeau. He was born at Redington Hospital in Skowhegan, Maine on a Friday morning. Randolph was the second child to Byron and Muriel Nadeau. Being born again on Palm Sunday 1993 a true believer in Christ. He went to his eternal home with the Lord on April 1, 2025.
Randolph graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1981.
Randy was enlisted in the Army for a brief time, discharged due to a medical condition. Randy was very proud of his country and being a veteran of the army. He proudly wore this title with honor.
Randy went on to get his CDL license and worked as a truck driver and was so proud of that. He took his sister for a ride in one of the big rigs to show it off. He worked for Gordon construction hauling hay for roadsides. He also worked for Boulettes trucking, Farrin Bros. & Smith Construction.
He traveled a lot when he was a truck driver and enjoyed it. He had to retire early because of his health. His back was really bad and he was in a lot of pain. He later developed diabetes and lost both big toes and his eyesight. Even though he lost his eyesight he didn't give up driving until the very last thing. His favorite thing was to take a road trip. He knew every road by memory. He could help you navigate any road trip from memory. Randy and Cathy (one of his favorite cousins) went on many of those trips together when his health was failing.
Randy could be found helping everyone that he knew. He was known for showing up if you had a flat in the middle of the night and needed him. He cared deeply for his friends and family. He cared about his niece, Jessica, helping her with paying for her driver's ed and getting her first car. Even showing up when she had a car accident and sitting with her until the wrecker came. This was just something that he did without even thinking about it.
He taught Sunday school and was known as Randy the candy man. In fact, he still bought candy and gum for the kids in his sister's classroom. He loved kids and was always trying to do something that would help them. If he was your friend, you didn't have to guess if he cared about you. It was evident in his actions.
He was loved by so many people that met him during his time he was in the nursing home. He was in three different nursing homes, Grey Birch in Augusta, Glen Ridge in Augusta and finally at Sanfield in Hartland. Each home he was in, hated to see him leave. He was also at Oak Grove for a short time for rehab several years ago and met a good friend, Charlie, who we are sure he is racing with in heaven and catching up.
Randy was a people observer he could often be found sitting in his favorite parking spot at Walmart eating his favorite McDonald meal watching the comings and goings at Walmart. He loved people and would do anything to help someone in need.
He is predeceased by his dad Byron; his uncle's Phil, Andrew and Gordon; his aunts Silvia, Nettie, Ella and Helene and cousin Becky.
He is survived by his mother Muriel; his favorite sister Tammie {Dennis} Cowette; niece Jessica {James} Bishop and their son Joseph; his favorite cousins Ruth {Rick} Blaschke and Cathy {Bruce} Jones. He will also be missed by two of his special friends Steve Benedetti and Troy Whittemore. He also is survived by his fur baby Tiger. We want to thank the staff at Sanfield Nursing Home for the great care. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Rest easy my brother. Always in my heart and never forgotten. Until we meet again.
