Rodney Lee McIntosh Sr. 62, died Thursday August 14th, 2014 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Caribou on December 18, 1951, the beloved son of Murray and Muriel (Wright) McIntosh. Rodney attended Windham High School in Willimantic, Connecticut. He spent most of his life in Connecticut where he was employed as a roofer for several firms, including Peterson Roofing and Hartford Roofing. Moving to Maine in 1997, he worked over 15 years for G & E Roofing in Augusta. Rodney loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. For many years, he traveled from Connecticut to Maine for vacations and to visit family. Rodney was predeceased by his beloved mother, Muriel McIntosh and is survived by his father Murray McIntosh of Vassalboro, his loving son, Rodney McIntosh Jr. of Eastford Connecticut, brother Bernard McIntosh and wife April of Sidney, sisters, Julie Rowe and husband Laurence of Vassalboro, and Mary Ann Quirion and husband Danny of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to convey special thanks for the compassionate care of the Critical care nursing staff at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, and for the generosity and love of his former employer, G & E Roofing of Augusta. Friends are invited to visit 7-9 pm on Friday August 22 at Wheeler Funeral Home on 26 Church Street Oakland.
