Obituary

Sally N. Chambers, 78, of Fairfield, Maine, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. She was born on June 24, 1947, and lived a life defined by strength, selflessness, and a deep devotion to her family and to the people she served throughout her career. Sally spent most of her professional life working as a social worker, where her compassion and commitment changed countless lives. She worked tirelessly, often holding a second job while earning her bachelor's degree. Her work ethic was unmatched—she continued working full-time right up until her passing. Sally found joy in helping others, and her dedication to service left an impact that will be felt for generations. Beyond her career, Sally loved her family above all else. She treasured time with her loved ones and adored her faithful dog, Zeva. She enjoyed gardening and spending time at the horse races with her best friend Joyce, a cherished companion for many years. Independent, strong, and endlessly giving, Sally embodied kindness in action. Her presence filled many hearts, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be replaced. Sally is survived by her son, Darren Chambers, and his longtime partner Rhonda; her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sally Harris; her brother Rick; her daughter-in-law Latisha Chambers; her grandchildren Dakota, Gabriella, Gavin, and Reagan; and her great-grandson Greyson. She was predeceased by her brother Terry, and by her son Kevin Chambers. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 20, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 81 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A burial service will take place in the spring. Donations in Sally's memory may be made to MMHS, where she dedicated much of her career. If Sally touched your life in any way, the family welcomes you to attend and say goodbye. She cared for so many, and her legacy lives on in every life she helped.
