Obituary

Sandra E. Flewelling March 7, 1947 – July 9, 2025 Fairfield - Sandra E. Flewelling, 78, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on July 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 7, 1947, Sandra lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and quiet strength. She was a woman who gave deeply to others—through her work, her care, and her presence. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hilltop Nursing Home in Fairfield, later serving as a Mental Health Worker III at AMHI. After retirement, she continued her calling to care for others as an in-home hospice worker with Helping Hands. Sandra found joy in the simple things: working in her garden, cooking meals for family, and creating lasting memories with the people she loved most. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and her sisters. A devoted Christian, Sandra's faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and was a faithful member of Central Church, and recently a member of First Church of Waterville. Her church family meant so much to her. She is predeceased by her mother Annie Brawn and birth mother Virginia Drake Ray; her sisters, Shirley Noyes and Arlene Pelchard; her brothers, Robert Ray, and Dwine Ray Jr; and brothers-in-law Paul W. Terstegen, Peter Davis, Douglas Noyes, Robert Berry. She is survived by her husband Richard; her sons Lee Richardson and wife Jennifer, Dana Richardson, Dale Richardson and wife Angel, and Shane Richardson and wife Robin; her daughter Felicia Lawrence and her husband James; her siblings, Sondra Daigle and husband Donald, Linda Terstegen, Jill Levesque and husband Roger, Barbara Berry, Jean Davis, and Allen Ray and several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Tozier Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine. All who knew and loved Sandra are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
