Clinton - - Scott P. Libby age 41, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 5, 2024, in Clinton.
Scott was born on Labor Day, September 6, 1982, in Waterville, to parents Philip and Anita Libby. He attended SAD #49 schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 2001. He was active in the Drama Club working on sets and doing sound. His senior year he won first place in the local VICA program for Graphic Arts, then competed in the Nationals where he placed Silver in the National Competition. Scott enjoyed Boy Scout Troop 460 and was the first Eagle Scout in 20 years, paving the way for others to follow.
Scott enjoyed racing at Winterport Dragway for several seasons driving for Jay Galusha. Music was always in his life, playing trumpet in school, and as an adult, taking guitar lessons from Steve Fotter. Scott hiked Mount Katahdin several times. While in High School, Scott worked after school at C.B. Davis in Waterville. He enjoyed time at the hunting camp in Unity, where he got his biggest deer in 2023. In 2022 he had his dream house built and was happy in the log home in the woods, where he and his dog Drifter settled.
Scott was a quiet soul and when he spoke, people listened and valued his opinions. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family. He could do most anything he put his mind to; working on vehicles, installing lights for his parents and sister, making wine from berries picked at his parent's home, and smoking meats and salmon for gatherings.
Scott was employed by J.S. McCarthy Printers immediately after college until his passing.
Scott is survived by his parents of Clinton and sister Ashley Libby of Hermon, the best 4 legged
friend named 'Drifter', aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.
