Obituary

Stephen “Steve” Thibodeau, 69, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1957, to Maurice and Methyl (Haslam) Thibodeau.

Steve spent much of his life working with automotive parts and small engines. Known to many as “the parts guy,” he was the owner of DAC Distributors in Clinton, Maine. He took great pride in his work and was known for his incredible knowledge of the industry. His lifelong passion for cars and racing brought him tremendous enjoyment.

Above all, Steve will be remembered for his hard work, generous heart, and kind spirit. Those who knew him often described him as “the nicest guy in the world” and someone who “would give the shirt off his back to anyone.” He treasured his family and the relationships he built throughout his life.

Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucille “Lucy” Thibodeau; his parents, Maurice and Methyl; his brothers, Larry, Mike, and Kevin; and his sister, Brenda.

He is survived by his daughter, Janneen King, and her husband, James; his beloved grandchildren, Kennedy, James, and Takashi; his brother, Rick; his stepdaughters, Kami Maheu and Kathy Alley; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He shared a very special bond with his granddaughter, Savanna Fasulo, who was his sidekick until the very end. She was his devoted caretaker and protector, and their connection was a treasured part of his life.

Steve’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him. His generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others will never be forgotten. The memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at O’Brien’s in Waterville, Maine, to honor Steve and celebrate the life he lived.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his doctor, Margaret and nurses Mary and Karen at MaineGeneral. For over a decade, you cared for Steve with compassion and kindness, making him feel like family.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
