Obituary

Stephen Paul “Bego” Veilleux, 73, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, with his loving daughter and Son-in-law by his side.

Born on June 22,1953, to Romeo Kaiser and Betty Veilleux of Fairfield, Maine, Stephen lived a life defined by hard work, dedication craftsmanship. He graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield Maine, in 1971 and went on to build a life and career he was deeply proud of.

Stephen was the proud owner of Steve Veilleux Construction, where he spent his lifetime building homes and creating lasting foundations for many families in the community. He was known for being meticulous in his work, taking great pride in every detail, and always striving for excellence.

Outside of his work, Stephen had a passion for power lifting and bodybuilding. His dedication and determination led him to achieve one of his proudest accomplishments when he earned the title of Mr. Maine Bodybuilding Champion in 1987. His commitment to physical fitness reflected the same perseverance and work ethic that he brought to every aspect of his life.

Stphen also enjoyed the simple pleasure of life. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and NASCAR, rarely missing the opportunity to watch a game or race. One of his favorite hobbies was snowmobiling with his family, creating cherished memories together on the trails that will be treasured for years to come.

Stephen is survived by his daughter Amy Foss and her husband Gerald of Winslow, Maine; his granddaughter Cassidy Lunt and her husband Mason of Winslow, Maine and his cherished great-grandson Beckham Lunt. He also leaves behind his former wife, Diane Veilleux, with whom he continued to share a special bond and friendship throughout the years. He is survived by his sisters, Gail Berry and her husband David of Fairfield; Kim Denis and her husband Paul of Fairfield; and Jayne Woods of Waterville; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Romeo Kaiser and Betty Veilleux and his sister Melanie Veilleux.

Stephen will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his skilled hands, his dedication to excellence and the many homes and memories he helped build throughout his life. Whether on a construction site or in the gym, he approached every challenge with determination and pride.
