Winslow-Susan Gertrude (Henry) Veilleux passed away peacefully at her home on September 22, 2026, after battling progressive Parkinson’s disease. She was 74 years old.

Susan was born in Revere, Massachusetts on June 3, 1952. She was the daughter of Ernest and Trudy (Permatteo) Henry. She was a lifelong resident of Winslow, Maine and graduated from Winslow High School in 1970.

On July 10, 1971, Susan married the love of her life, Alan D. Veilleux of Waterville, Maine, and they shared 55 wonderful years together. Susan was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to entertain at the pool and was an avid follower of her children and grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. She was the family photographer and filled many photo books for everyone to enjoy.

Susan worked for Hannaford for almost 30 years. She held many different positions, and at the time of her retirement she was the assistant to the district manager. After retirement, she volunteered as a greeter at Inland Hospital.

Susan and Alan traveled all over the United States, Mexico, and Canada. She loved spending time with her four granddaughters, who lovingly called her “Mimi”. Many of the girls’ favorite memories include swimming in the pool and spending the night at Mimi and Grandpa’s house. Susan is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Ryan A. Veilleux and wife Melanie of Winslow, Maine and Melissa S. Peters and husband Joe of Gorham, Maine; her very special granddaughters, Maya, Molly, Isabella and Avery; sister Leslie Mathieu of North Carolina; a special brother- in- law and sister- in- law Steven and Sally Veilleux of Waterville, Maine; extended family Chuck and Pam Thomas and their family of Marion, Iowa; special friends Rosalie Perkins and Sharon Oberlerchner and their families; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Susan’s long time care givers, Sarah, Debby, Stephanie and Beth.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5pm-8pm at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St. Waterville. A private graveside service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta on October 7, 2026.
