Obituary

Terese Marie Neveux March 25, 1963 – May 23, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terese Marie Neveux, beloved daughter of the late Paul Emelien Neveux Sr. and Marie Paule Neveux (Goulet), Terese's siblings were David, Jocelyne, Paul, Denise, Gisele, Jeannine, and Monique. She was the 6th sibling in the line-up and remembered by her family as the sweetest, most gentle soul. Terese was born in and grew up in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Growing up, she was a deeply caring person who connected with everyone, full of life, and loved spending time with her family. She laughed big and was always up for a line dance at family BBQ's with her sisters, trying to be like the Rockettes. She was very active and particularly enjoyed biking to the town pool during the summer where she would swim all day long. In the early 80s, she and her family moved to Biddeford, Maine to be closer to extended family. Ever since Terese was very young, her dream was to get married and be a mother. While attending a church in New Gloucester, Maine with her family, she met and married Andrew Guay on September 19th, 1986. They remained in New Gloucester where they built a home and raised their four children. Terese chose to be a stay-at-home mom and when their local school closed down, she took it upon herself to finish each of her children's education at home. Terese's memory is absolutely cherished by her children who remember her unconditional love and faithful dedication to them. She was truly the example of the "Proverbs 31 woman" referenced in the Bible, a woman whose faith in Jesus Christ carried into everything she did. She was up early in the morning before everyone else ready to greet you with a smile and up late preparing for the next day. She was an exceedingly nurturing and selfless mother, full of compassion, empathy, and encouragement. She is remembered by each of her children as being their greatest cheerleader. She brought warmth, comfort and peace to her home. When you weren't feeling well, you couldn't ask for a better bedside nurse. She knew all of the best tips and tricks to keep you comfortable and feeling better fast. She was committed to keeping her children active in the great outdoors and was a reliable logistics and supply officer for all the family adventures and excursions. She was very resourceful and creative. She often referenced this quality in her own mother and would put her hand to making things for the home and family herself. She loved to bake with and watch period romantic dramas with her daughters, dreaming about the day they would get married and have babies of their own. Many of her best laughs came from her son's antics growing up and the "shenanigans" they would get into together. She often reminisced about these memories where they continued to be a source of hilarity long after. Terese was a doting and affectionate mother and was happiest when surrounded by her children sharing memories of their younger years. Through the good and the challenging times, Terese remained confident in her identity in Christ and the hope she had in Jesus. While our loss of her is truly profound, we rejoice with her that she has found fullness of joy in the arms of her Savior and that she has been reunited with family. We also take comfort in the same hope we share with her, that when we are all reunited with her, it will be forever and suffering will be no more. "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18). We genuinely believe that if given a final chance to speak to her loved ones it would be a message of love and forgiveness just as Christ forgave us. (Colossians 3:13) For each individual to fulfill their responsibility to seek the Lord for themselves while He still may be found. (Isaiah 55:6) Only in Christ can one find true healing, freedom, and joy. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) She is survived by her beloved children, Grace Veilleux and her husband Michael Veilleux (grandchildren Evelyn and twins Levi and Collin Veilleux), Jonathan Guay (grandson Julian Guay), David Guay, and Ruth Guay (son). The family invites you to a graveside gathering to honor Terese's life at Forest Grove Cemetery 159 Winthrop St, Augusta, Maine 04330 on Monday, June 1st at 2:00pm.
