Obituary

Oakland, ME: Vallerie Ann Bishop, 54, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at her Webb Road home. She was born in Augusta, ME on October 1, 1960 the son of Howard and Anna (McGinn) Bishop. Vallerie attended Oakland schools and received her Medical Technician License from Kennebec Valley Technical College in Fairfield, ME. She worked as a Medical Technician, 17 years for MaineGeneral Medical Center at Glen Ridge, Gray Birch, and Hospice and Home Care. Vallerie was employed over 25 years at Shaws Supermarket in Waterville, ME, and considered all her co-workers and customers family. She was a resident of Oakland, ME almost 30 years where she enjoyed animals, especially her Pug Mollie. She was an avid reader and spent many hours doing crosswords. For many years she was a supporter of the M.S. Foundation. She was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and Charles Bishop. Surviving are her son, Edward Bishop and his fiancée Destiny Herrera of St. Albans, ME; 4 grandchildren, Chelsey Bishop of Winslow, ME, Brittany of Norridgewock, ME, Kaylee Bishop and Mariah Bishop both of St. Albans, ME; a brother, Bill Bishop and wife Honi of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a sister, Pat Gulliver of Palm Island, Fl. Friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 26 at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler Funeral Home 26 Church Street, Oakland, ME.
