It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vera Grace, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on November 5th, 1940, in North Carolina, Vera was the cherished daughter of James Russell Wiggins and Rachel Overman Hines. She is predeceased by her siblings, Bill Wiggins and Judy Marshburn, and her beloved eldest son, Matthew Grace. Vera leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through her three surviving children and their spouses, Mark Grace and wife Cecile Grace, Kelly Miller and husband Keven Miller, Susan Cameron and husband Scott Cameron. As a grandmother, she was adored by all her grandchildren—Tiffany Bernatchez, Britani Cabassa, Nigel Grace, Chloe Grace, and Nina Grace—and her great-grandchildren, Harry, Promise, Skylar, Gracie, Madden, Charlotte, Kane, Matty, Mikayla and Breeanna who brought her immense joy and pride. Known for her strength, independence, and kindness, Vera was the rock of the family. Her life was centered around her family and loved them immensely. She had many passions including walking, search-word puzzles and of course her love for Englebert Humperdinck, Andre Rieu, and Elvis Presley. Vera was also known for her particular fondness of sweets, often indulging in candy canes, "Swiss" chocolate and her all-time favorite—lollipops. As we remember Vera, we celebrate the profound impact she made on our lives. Her love, kindness, strength, and compassion will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of calling her a friend. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts. In honor of Vera's life, a Graveside Service will be held on 08/02/2024 at Howards Cemetery in Winslow, Maine at 1 p.m. following will be a Gathering to celebrate Vera's Life at 3 Hinckley Road, Fairfield, Maine . All who knew and loved her are invited to join us in celebrating her remarkable life and the joy she brought to our world.
