Shawmut: William E. Wilson passed away on December 27, 2023, at Oak Grove Nursing Home at the age of 87. He was born September 3, 1936, in Shawmut, Maine to Phyliss and Perley Wilson. Bill was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1954 where he played basketball and ran track. He went on to enlist in the Air Force and was stationed in Africa and Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine. Bill loved the Red Sox and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bill married Marlene Hood, September 7, 1957, and were together for 66 years. Bill worked for WH Shurtleff in Fairfield Maine and then moved to Sarasota, Florida and worked for Demaco Company for 25 years. They moved back to Maine in October of 2007 so he and Marlene could be close to family. He was predeceased by his parents Phyliss and Perley Wilson; mother in-law Audrey McGee; son Stephen Wilson; grandson Christopher Wilson of Sarasota, Florida; brother Warren Wilson of Falmouth; and brother in-law Ray "Fibba" McGee. Bill is survived by his wife Marlene and son David Wilson of Shawmut. Burial will take place at a later date.
