August 26, 2013 Oakland: Woodrow L. Williams Sr., 83 died Monday August 26, 2013 at the Inland Hospital. He was born in Oakfield on March 28, 1930 the son of Earl and Anne (Richards) Williams. Woodrow grew up in Oakfield, attending local schools. He entered the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was employed as a mechanic many years by Gilbert s Garage, which became Joseph Motors Annex in Oakland, and retired from S.A.D. #47 in 1994. Woodrow was predeceased by his wife of 42 years Frances Williams, grandson Andrew, great grandson Brandon, and great grand daughter Vicki-Sue. Surviving are 8 children, Woodrow Williams Jr. Of Florida, Edward Williams Sr. And wife Sharon of Fairfield, Rodney Williams Sr. And wife Debbie, Debbie Davis and husband Donald of Oakland, Perley Williams of Oakland, Linda Bailey and husband Michael of Sidney, Guy Williams Sr. And wife Debbie of Rome, and Vicki French and husband Ivan of Palermo, sister Daisy Smith of Chelsea, half brother Raymond Williams of Sidney, sister in law Beatrice Campbellton of Chelsea, and friend Avis Pelton of China, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit 7-9 PM on Thursday August 29 at Wheeler Funeral Home 26 Church Street Oakland. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday September 3 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Civic Center Drive Augusta.
